This piece is part of the collection "FIBER ALIVE" / Amur leopards live in the Russian far east, where it meets China. Well-adapted to the bitter cold of the mountainous region, their incredible spotted fur makes everyone swoon. Poachers aim to fill the demand for their skins and bones. These leopards are solitary animals. They just want to jump 19 feet horizontally to ambush dinner in peace. However, scarce prey makes suppertime another challenge they have to deal with. Humans, with their farmland and need for warm clothing, once again, make things difficult for the locals. The most recent data suggest there are around 150 of these beasts in the wild. They need better protection before it’s too late.
