This piece is part of the collection "FIBER ALIVE" / Solitary and territorial, these creatures depend heavily on dense grassland for survival. They are crucial to the biodiversity in Nepal and the South Asian region they call home. By grazing on grasses and shrubs, and providing seed dispersal, they create opportunities for other vegetation to thrive. However, fires set by humans to clear grasslands are a significant threat. Agricultural expansion, infrastructure development, and deforestation are reducing their habitat. They may be elusive, but without them, the diversity in their habitat becomes unbalanced.
