"Getting a grip on reality, on the moment, on oneself can feel like a delicate act. In Grip, only the hands remain, loosely intertwined, more resting together than holding fast. Without a face or body, they carry the whole story: the wish to stay connected, the hesitation to tighten the hold. Some are painted in sharp detail, others dissolve into loose shapes, as if slipping from view, suggesting that even the intention to hold on can blur and fade, clear in one moment and elusive the next."
