Yoyoyoshie is a guitarist for the Kyoto based all girl punk rock band, Otoboke Beaver. Here we see her dealing with some technical issues while the crowd cheers her on during a performance. In 2025, they performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and while punk music is not my favourite, I love the very candid and vulnerable moment she is having while the crowd empathizes and supports her. I especially love that she wears a vintage dress and practical shoes which is as far from mainstream American pop music culture as one could get.
