In this 1950's setting, we look back on a more innocent time. We see two boys venturing out bravely and they wonder what would Snoopy do? The owl is a symbol as a messenger of wisdom and the conflicting street signage adds to their confusion as they take steps to start new roots of exploration away from home, hence the roots reference. The pylon is also for the safety that we wish for them.
