Artist Statement: 
This piece is part of the Jumbis series that explores the lore of this fictional character. They're a world-eater turned guardian of the landscapes they inhabit. Sometimes pieces are driven by Jumbis's emergent lore, and other times the pieces inform their story. This painting is part of the second group, playing with diluted ink over a spring-inspired watercolor landscape that made Jumbis into something more spirit than tangible monster, fading into the landscape as if to become it.
