Artist Statement:
Small houses are a reoccurring theme in Katya's work, offering viewers a place to place themselves in her cozy landscapes. Part of a set of four, each small landscape is a companion to a larger piece in the Jumbis creature series, showing these landscapes in the care of a monster turned guardian. This spring landscape is inspired by the wildflower fields of the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon.
