Jorge Luis Porrata (1975) was born and grew up in Camagüey, Cuba. He is a poet, an
educator, and a multidisciplinary artist. He has illustrated about a dozen books for the Cuban/Cuban American Miami-based publishing house Homagno. What the Animals Had to Say is his first book, published, and is part of a series of animal fables in development. Todo en el tiempo de Dios is his second book, compiling 30 years of his original poetry in Spanish and English.
