About
Andrea Lopez
Having grown up in Colombia and spent half her life in the U.S., Lopez carries pieces of both cultures into her creations. Her path as a self-taught artist has been unconventional; before becoming a full-time painter, she dedicated many years to pediatrics. Yet, art has always remained her first love, and returning to it has been one of the greatest joys of her life. Her mixed-media paintings skillfully blend abstraction with subtle realism, utilizing an intuitive and layered process where she adds, removes, and reworks paint until color and texture tell their own stories. Through her work, Lopez aims to evoke joy, curiosity, and connection, inviting viewers to pause and discover something new with each glance.
