Aaron Piland
He is a Portland-based artist and illustrator who blurs the line between mind and matter. From a young age, he was encouraged to make art as a form of self-discovery. Today, art is his native language, which he uses to translate thoughts and feelings into color and form. He has worked extensively with traditional mediums such as acrylic, watercolor, and gouache, and digital mediums such as Procreate, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and finds the two disciplines complementary. He works both as a gallery painter and as an illustrator for clients. He holds a BFA from Kendall College of Art and Design.
About
Aaron Piland
Through his artistic journey, Aaron explores the concept of form, capturing both the physical presence of objects and the intangible essence that fills the spaces between. By embracing the interplay of positive and negative spaces, his work invites contemplation of the relationship between form and emptiness. This encourages reflection on emptiness not as a void, but as a rich source of potential where meaning and significance can emerge.
