Brenden Spivey is a contemporary abstract artist whose vibrant, layered works explore the dynamic relationships between color, texture, and shape. Born in Newark, Ohio, and now based in Columbus, Spivey found his voice as an artist through a deepening connection with the region’s thriving creative community. Drawing inspiration from mid-century modern design, nature, music, and travel, Spivey’s paintings are both intuitive and intentional — rich in movement, emotional resonance, and playful structure. His process is driven by color, allowing compositions to evolve organically as he builds textured layers using brushes, palette knives, and scrapers.
