"This piece depicts the figure outlined in a micron pen and shaded with colored pencil on Bristol paper. The inspiration for this work comes from my experience of learning to accept my body as it is and view my body with neutrality, peace, and appreciation. One way I do this is by appreciating the beauty of nature around me. I can choose to be attentive to the trees as they change colors or the flowers as they bloom in the spring. I can choose where my focus lies, beyond the beauty standards that criticize my nature. "
